Don't worry too much about the technicalities of writing. Aim to improve, but try not to get too caught up in things like proper grammar and the like. You're a storyteller. So, leave the nit-picking to the editors; and if you're doing your own editing, then just look it over for mistakes, continuity errors, and plot holes.
Your goal is to tell a good story, not to catch every single grammar mistake. Tell the stories you want to tell, and don't force yourself to tell the ones that are just for you. You can write for yourself and for others, you don't have to choose between them.
Writing for yourself can give you peace of mind and satisfaction that you can enjoy all by yourself whenever you want to.
Writing for others can bring you a sense of pride in yourself, and help you strive to improve, to better tell the stories you want to share.
